Well, it's growing a little bit. I love my "upside down" garden. The tomatoe's are doing fine but I broke my little pepper plant trying to tie it. Maybe it will survive! And the cucumber seems to be growing too (I have a lot of those in my container garden). And the green beans in the containers are getting very big - I don't know if they will bear because I have too many - I hope so! I need more pots....and we should have enough lettuce next week for a salad - Yum. We have an old receipe for "Granny Salad" - my Daddy's grandmother used to make it in Virginia. It's leaf lettuce, sliced green onions and I add tomatoes. The dressing is the best part....and no, there are no measurements......Duke's Mayo, Cider Vinegar and Sugar (I use splenda) - mix it up and stick you finger in it to taste - it should be sweet with a tang! It's wonderful..... And of course, Matilda had to play throw the Blue Elephant until she got thirsty -and I got a video of it! Tatiana is still a little sickly but better. She ate some today and is perky but still has a little poo-poo problem. We are giving her medicine and hope it will all be over tomorrow. It's off to Columbus and they say no rain this weekend - wow, it's rained every time we have been to Columbus since April! It's almost 2:30 and I have to take a pill and try to get some sleep. Oh, one more note - we watched Jay Leno tonight - tomorrow is his last night doing the Tonight Show. 17 years ago we were in Las Vegas and rushed back to watch the last show of Johnny Carson. I cried because we thought this is such the end of an era and I had grown up watching him. Now, we have another era ending with Jay Leno! I think we are getting old!!

Baby Tatiana throw up
At 6 am - now, I turned out the light at 4am - so I'm in this something is wrong but I'm not sure what state. Well, it was Tatiana - she was throwing up - everywhere - just some dog food and then just water. But she looked at me with those big eyes and said "I don't feel good, Mommy" - and I don't know what to do. We're out of Pepto because the last bottle was leaking and I threw it away. I thought if she could sleep it would be better so I gave her a little piece of her pill - and she did rest better. I stayed up and watched her and took her out and gave her water until about 11:30. By this time, I'm a zombie and have to get some sleep. She was asleep in bed with me and when I woke up at 2:30 PM she was in Kenny's office. She had thrown up a couple more times and I'm trying to decide if we should go to the vet. She did not have diarehea at all and it was just water so I held her some more and she just slept. I had some Pedialite so I started her on some of that and she held it down. I brouth the buggy in because she wanted to just be by her Daddy and she slept most of the day. I kept giving her the peadialite and it seems to help her. We took her down stairs and she went pee-pee fine. I just her one more time and she came back up the stairs by herself and drank some water on her own which she has kept down too. I just hate it when my baby is sick. And the worse part is they can't really tell you what hurts. So I cleaned my bed and bathroom, did the laundry, cooked some great ribs, baked apples and corn on the cob for dinner - no niether one of them got a rib bone!!!!! So now, Daddy is taking them out one more time and I hope my little sweetie feels better tomorrow. I'm tired but don't know how I'll get to sleep now! I didn't get any of my projects done this week either. It's always something then it's time for the weekend. Gotta pack tomorrow for Columbus and I really need to do my roots. Ah, let 'em show this week!!! I did give the girls a bath yesterday and a little summer time cut so they look really cute. I'll take pictures when Tatiana feels better.....

Behind on Blogs
Dehra's Birthday Smoke Ring and Gloves - Shades of Brown...
Purple smoke ring as a scarf...
Purple Smoke ring
Memorial Day Cook Out!
Work weekend, holiday weekend, company weekend - you know how it goes! First the photos - I can't read knitting patterns and I don't know how to knit in the round so I just make stuff up! I really love the smoke rings and hoods and my girl Dehra's birthday is June 20th. I know it will be hot at hell here but she can look forward to wearing it in the winter. I made it a little too long and maybe should be bigger in the round but I'm pleased with it and I made her matching Wrist Warmers to go with it. The the purple one (yes, it's a pretty purple but it doesn't look that way in the photo) - I did on my Speed Stix. Got the "round" too big and it needed to be longer to cover the head but it will work too. I'm having fun experimenting with these right now and will eventually get a good pattern to work. I'm about ready to try a pair of joined knitting needles and test it out. I don't like to sew the seams too much. I did make a pair of purple Wrist Warmers to match the smoke ring but no pics. We had a good weekend at Beluga with lots of rain every day. Our friends Pat and Margo came up yesterday and we went out to dinner last night then cooked steaks today. Pat and Kenny went in our woods and put up a "silt fence" to re-direct the water from the creek away from our fence - hard to explain but I hope it works and there is no way in HELL I would have gone back there so thank goodness Pat was here to help Kenny. They were soaking wet with sweat and had mud all over them so they hosed off in the back yard and showered downstairs - I think the muddy clothes may still be out there! It stopped raining long enough (sorta) to grill the steaks and we unrolled the awning and ate out on the deck. It had cooled off by then so it was very very nice. I would like to say God Bless all of our service men and women who have given their lives for this country and those who still protect it now. And God Bless America!

Another nice Day
I didn't do a whole lot more today - just some laundry and cooked. I did some more knitting and have a nice gift for Dehra's Birthday on June 20th. I'll get Kenny to take pictures when I have some make-up on!!!! I do have to post this - I swear I did NOT stage this - Matilda was playing with her "Yorkie" baby and I looked up and she had put it in her small snuggle pad, than climbed in her snuggle ball for a nap. Just had to take a picture of this! Three years ago today we picked up Matilda and brought her to her forever home. She was just a wee little thing and the very next day we left for a vacation in Gatlinburg in a little cabin in the woods - wish we were there now! Time just flys by - Tatiana will be 5 years old in July and it seems like yesterday we brought her home to our family. Such joys in our lives - our dogs......Happy Memorial Day to everyone!

Promised Photos
Grey Alpaca Wrist Warmers with Rhinestone Buttons!
Triple Loop
Loop Scarf and matching Wrist Warmers
To match the Loop Scarf
OK - they are not GOOD photos but Kenny wasn't here to take them. This is my Loop Scarf and Wrist Warmers made with the Speed Stix. (the gloves on #8's). I really like the Loops scarf and I can loop it twice or 3 times. Of course, it's got to be pretty cold to wear this thing! Wow I wish I lived in New York! I also made my first "cowl" and working on another one but decided to "frog" it and make the neck bigger so it might look like a smoke ring. I'm still doing all of this with 2 stitches because that's all I still know how to do. Help Christy or Doc!!! It's driving me crazy that I can't make cute little Hats to go with these. I think I'm going to knit some tomorrow - I am so exhausted I can't begin to tell you and I actually got dizzy at the library today and almost fell over. We have not had any kind of break in so long it's getting to me. I swear if we don't go camping soon I'm going to figure out how to pitch that tent and go off into the woods by myself! We actually are supposed to go to a cookout on Sunday but I've decided no way. Kenny and I actually can stay home on Sunday and Monday and that is what we are going to do. Ya just gotta say no sometimes. I'm almost through with my painting too - probably finish it next week then have to start another big one. I had planned to clean up my art studio this week but I'm pushing that back also. The body and mind says stop it Miss gotta do everything. And I'm still trying to dial American Idol to vote for Adam - how in the hell do these people get thru???? Oh well, we'll see tomorrow night. Some good news - the insurance folks were out today and we're getting a new roof! It will cost us some but not nearly what we would have to pay if not for the hail damage. So sometimes you do catch a break and we are grateful. Now the next big home improvement can be the deck instead of a roof - yeah - but that's a long way of too. My garden continues and I'm so happy. I picked daisies and one hydranga today and they are on my kitchen counter and so pretty. Now, not just 10 hours of sleep but a day of rest.......

Lots and Lots of Rain
To think 2 years ago we had NO rain at all and now it's very very green around here. I love it and my garden loves it too. It does hurt business on the weekends when there are thunderstorms right when we are going to work - I don't know why people won't come out - it's not like they will melt or anything. But we had a decent friday night at Belloo's then a really bang up Saturday night. Musically, it had it's magic moments too. We love having Larry back on Sax - he is so good. Dehra and I worked our butts off last night too but it was worth it. Believe me, baby, there ain't nothing like applause! Of course, I'm zapped tonight but we did get home in time to see the final "Desperate Housewives" and after Tuesday of Idol it will be not so much TV for me. I do not like re-runs and will have more time for my other stuff. The only thing is that's when I do my knitting while watching TV - maybe I'll just take my knitting down in the swing in my Secret Garden - now that sounds peaceful - except I remember that anytime we are in the back yard I have to constantly throw the "Blue Elephant" for Matilda. Tatiana likes to swing with me but the other day I was swinging with her and talking to my Mother on the phone. I guess I swang too hard because she threw up all over! Poor baby. Well, off and running for another week - art class tomorrow night then I need to clean out my art studio and get it organized for the summer. And I do need to Paint this week. I have almost no cigar box paintings and need to start on a wedding present painting for august. So now some much needed sleep and hope everyone has a good night sleep too!

Ice Pack Night
I know my rotater cuff surgery was a success but that does not mean it can't get really sore. Kenny and I worked in the yard yesterday and I planted a lot of stuff. But today I decided it was very cool and I would try and seperate my Hosta's and plant some more. Who ever said you could do it with a butcher knife does not live in Ga. with red clay! I had to take a maddox and swing hard - a lot. But I got about 10 more hosta's in the ground. Then I dug a little row on the side of the house - with the maddox - and planted Kenny's cantelope seeds. We'll see if they grow in red clay. I know my squash did there but there's too many weeds and I just can't handle the weeding anymore. Everything looks real nice but it's ice pack time for my shoudler! No telling what pains I will wake up to tomorrow. After watching AI - yeah Adam - I started my "Loop Scarf" and finished it before the news was over. I LOVE it. I did it on my Speed Stix using the same yarn for Mother's throw. It looks great on - I'll have to take pics later and I'm starting a matching pair of wrist warmers to match. I have a lovely older lady in Columbus that comes to see me every time and I'm thinking that would make a nice Christmas present for her. She loves to dress up and it's very classy. I also finished a pair of red WW with a grey and red cuff last night with no mistakes!! Whoopee - I sure need to learn how to do increase/decrease and something about knit over....I'll stick with the basics for now - until I can get another lesson from Christy or Doc. I'm wanting to make hats soooo much but that will have to wait too. Wow, tomorrow is Thursday already and it's packing time for Columbus again. The weather here is amazing - very cool. Sorry Florida folks but at least you are getting some rain and I'm going to enjoy this coolness while I can....

What Mother's do on Mother's Day
My sweet mother gave me flowers on Mother's Day. Not only that we planted them in planters together for me to bring home. We both love our flowers just like her Mother did. She did love her lap blanket I knitted for her and we had a great dinner at home. Daddy is really not doing well so we ate at home this year. Kenny and I were so tired it was great just to sit down at Mother's table and enjoy being with them. My mother is so active and if you wonder where I get most of this "creative" thing from, it's her. She has always done the most amazing things: sews, cooks, bakes like crazy, decorating, gardening, and full of wonderful idea's and things to make. We always made things together. And of course, she loves to clean house (that part I do not like AT ALL!) She has made my life very very special and of course, I love her but there's just so much more than that. I think maybe only Mother's and Daughter's understand that bond so I'm glad there is a Mother's Day just to say Thank You. So I thank my Mother for all she has done for me, taught me, and nagged me into doing - yes, Mother I pick up my living room every night, put the pillows back on the couch right so that when you get up the next morning it's a nice sight!!! So I brought my flowers home and they are on my Deck and she also got me a white summer hat to garden in and white socks (which I will not garden in - that's why she always buys me white socks because she knows by next year they will never be white again.)! My really sweet husband on the other hand did nothing for Mother's Day which he was reminded that I AM TOO a mother to two beautiful Yorkie Babies...so there. - (I don't think he will forget again.)

Instant Gratification!!!!!!
OK, I'm impatient - can't wait for things to be done - want it right now - can't live without the applause (oop's - that's another catagory!)....Instant Gratification......
As I am LEARNING to knit I do love it but it sure takes a long time when you are as slow as I am. But I'm trying very hard to it without mistakes! And THEN - I found Speed Stix! AH HA....I bought them yesterday - Size 50 - and made 2 scarves last night. OK, I've got 4 days until Mother's Day so hey - why not? I saw this in a pattern book - I didn't want to buy the book so little ole me just whipped out my Blackberry and took a picture of the page - I know that's not nice but I didn't have the extra 10.00 and it's the only pattern I wanted anyway! I also didn't have enough to buy the right amount of yarn so I made it smaller. But I did it - and I did it in one night (about 2 hours). So now my Mother has a nice small lapgan for Mother's Day or it can be a Blankey for the Kitties. I love love love this needles. The scarves are nice too and I plan to make some more of these. I does take a lot of yarn but oh, the instant gratification is worth it. And yes, Christy I will keep working on my smaller needles to learn but I don't think I'll ever be able to do the tiny needles and tiny stitches that you do. I guess I'm too old and want it right now. So anyway, my day off was so nice - I did cook a nice dinner - and got my yarn and knitted. Now I've got lot to to tomorrow to catch up!

Plein Air Painting in Columbus
Cool shot of me and Dehra on stage...
Shane dancing on Stage with me at Belloo's - fuzzy but "painterly"....
This is what they painted on Sunday (without our little Brock in the piciture - he's so cute)
Shane and Marghe painting on Sunday
This is what we were painting - Beautiful and look at the clouds!
Ron and Neely painting on the River Walk
Wow - what fun we had this weekend. I've been too busy and too exhausted to even post about it. We had great crowds at Belloo's and on Saturday I got my tired butt up and went to the River Walk to Plein Air paint with Shane, Matt, Marghe, Neely and Ron. I have never done this and it is amazing. It was also HOT! They got to paint longer than I did - I DID have to sleep people but I was pleased with what I did with the time I had. I did leave my painting in Columbus because it was so wet but plan to finish it later. And I forgot to take picture of it. The whole group came to the club on saturday night and we had a ball. They painted again on Sunday but I was so tired I didn't but we went down and watched them some in the gardens. I would love to be able to this more often but most of the time they paint on the weekends which is almost impossible for me to do. It's wednesday and I'm just now feeling normal. Of course, I had art on Monday night, then had to unpack, clean up, do errands and grocery shop yesterday. Guess what I'm doing today......NOTHING! Well, almost - I'm going to cook a nice dinner for me and Kenny but we are supposed to have bad storms this afternoon too. I just need a "down day" of sorts. I do love Plein Air painting and going to put that on my I must do more of list.....
OOH, and my Tomato's are growing!!!! Kenny has decided to call it my "down under" garden - like Austria!!
